I was taking a picture of Lincoln and didn’t even notice what I took a picture of until I looked at the preview screen to see if I needed another picture.

Seriously – I ran away and handed my camera to Jenny because there was a spider on it…well, a picture of a spider on it.  And I’m covering my eyes as much as possible while posting this.

Just got an update from Sunny G Acres (where the kids and I went with Kim to visit Kim’s friends’ donkey farm) and two of their donkeys had babies.

Lucy Cheerleading

September 25, 2008

Lucy’s been crying at every cheer practice since she was dropped.  Who can blame her.

At the last practice, she cried for the first half of practice.  Then they went to get drinks from the fountain.  I met her downstairs.  As much as I wanted to scoop her up and just hold her, I sucked it up and said, “Lucy, you HAVE to STOP crying.  You need to be a big girl and go out there and do a good job.”

The rest of the practice went GREAT for her.

On the way home, she was so proud of herself.  “It’s like my ears heard what you were saying and they were telling me to do a good job…AND I DID!”  I’m so proud of her.

This is her routine.

“Momma, Don’t Mess My Room Up”

September 25, 2008

Gracie drew on a napkin.  I said, “Gracie, I like your picture it’s really pretty.”

She said, “It says, Momma, don’t mess my room up.  And don’t burp in the kitchen.  You burp really loud.  Say excuse me.”

Ok, kids!  What’s up??!!!

A Lucy Funny

September 24, 2008
Jamie emailed this to me:
Lucy and I were talking about Chip and Dale the chipmunks on disney.  She said “he there’s other chipmunks called Theodore, Alvin, and um uuummm WOODCHUCK!  I struggled not to laugh and said, “I don’t think that’s right”  she got an embarrassed smile on her face and said, “oh ya it’s Simon”.

“Momma’s Yelling”

September 22, 2008

That was the title of the book Lucy wrote.

I saw that and my heart felt heavy.

But you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.  Inside were pictures and Lucy narrated:

“Momma’s yelling ‘suppertime'” (picture of momma)

“Momma’s yelling ‘supper’ to dolly.”  (picture of dolly – including “soundwaves” ((((((( )

“Momma’s yelling ‘suppertime’ to Lucy” (picture of Lucy ((((( )

“Momma’s yelling ‘suppertime’ to Gracie” (picture of Grace ((((((( )

“Momma’s yelling ‘suppertime’ to Gavin, Lincoln and Vaughn”.  (picture of the boys ((((( ((((( ((((( )

“Momma’s yelling ‘suppertime’ to Daddy.” (bald picture of daddy((((( )

It was a very sweet book afterall.
