Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins

September 30, 2007

Grandma James loaded us up with pumpkins from her garden.  Looking forward to decorating them this week.  She sent us ornamental pumpkins for every child in Lucy and Grace’s preschool classes.

Amazing Weekend

September 30, 2007

We had an amazing weekend.  I seriously can’t remember the last time I’ve laughed so much…it was non-stop from the time we left to the time we got back.  Lots of eating, lots of sarcasm, lots of sharing, possibly too much horseback riding, quiet time by the lake and soooo much laughter.

I left my camera at home so will post some pictures when I get them from Andrea.

Nana and Papa came up to help with the kids and cleaned house.  The kids are reporting that they had a GREAT time!!

Came home to FOUR sick boys.

45 Minutes and Counting!!

September 28, 2007

I just packed my bags and in 45 minutes I’ll be on a plane to Wisconsin.  I’m going on a “getaway” weekend with three gal pals!  We are going to have so much fun!!  Shopping, biking, boating, eating, talking, laughing – all options…but who knows what we’ll do!!  The only definite plan we have is laughter.

Nana and Papa will be helping take care of all the kids.  I already miss them.  I know it sounds crazy…but I really do.

But I’m soooooo excited!

My First Field Trip

September 27, 2007

I had my very first field trip today as a Mommy.  (It was Lucy’s first field trip too!)  I got out of work a half hour early, headed home, pick up Lu and off to school.  I sat with the other mommies while our children gathered with their teacher and went through the Alphabet bag (a bag sent home with one child to bring back full of things that begin with the letter of the day).  Then it was off to the Discovery Center.  I think I was the only mommy that had five car seats already in the van 🙂  But I only took three kids and one teacher with me.

It was a fun day.  We’ve been to the Discovery Center before…but I had fun watching Lucy interact with all of her classmates.  She is definitely a take charge gal with them.  (I would prefer to call her that than “bossy”.  HA!)  Her teacher was telling me that there are a lot of girls in her class and they she was surprised at how well they all get along.  And she was playing with lots of different kids.  I was wondering at what age kids start to become “clicky” (I know I spelled it wrong.)  I was glad that it isn’t yet.  A fun, fun day.

He Made Everything Beautiful

September 26, 2007

Ecclessiastes 3:11

I was going over the girls bible verse with them for Awanas tonight.  I asked the girls what is outside that God made that is beautiful.  I started with Lucy and then went back and forth between them:

Lucy:  Grass

Grace:  Strawberries

Lucy:  Trees

Grace:  Apples

Lucy:  Stars

Grace:  Grapes

Do you see a pattern here?

EVERY person is looking at the camera.  I think that’s a first.
