From When I Was 30 Weeks Pregnant

June 30, 2007

I found this email that I sent out on 4/5/06…just 11 days before the boys were born.  I found it ironic that the boys were born weighing 3-14, 4-5 and 3-12 (two of the exact same weights as my checkup).

I had an ultrasound and doctor appointment today. Everything still looks great! I’m 30 weeks along. The babies measure 3 pounds 9 ounces (Baby A – 56th percentile), 3 pounds 14 ounces (Baby B – 76th percentile) and 3 pounds 12 ounces (Baby C- 69th percentile)…so over 11 pounds of baby in there right now! All three babies were head down. Baby B was hard to get any measurements on because he was down really low and hiding behind Baby C. It was cute though because when they were measuring what they could on Baby B – he had the hiccups…and then when they moved on to measure Baby C – HE had the hiccups! My blood pressure was good – a little higher than the last few times…but it was right where it was when I came in for my first appointment – 132/80. And there was no protein in my urine. So preeclampsia has NOT set in yet! Praise God! I am measuring 43 cm…which doesn’t seem very big to me considering there are three babies in there. (If I were carrying only one baby, I would probably be measuring around 30 centimeters since I’m 30 weeks along.)

My doctor said I was breaking all the rules because the babies were so big for triplets and because I’m still pregnant considering my health conditions (gestational diabetes and a history of preeclampsia).

She is going to start seeing me on a weekly basis now. She was going to keep going every 2 weeks…but she wants to monitor me more closely for preeclampsia because I’ve had a lot of swelling, headaches, and been feeling funny the past week. My next appointment is Friday the 14th (Good Friday) and then Wednesday the 19th.

Family Reunion

June 29, 2007

We got to see Grandma and Grandpa, Jan & Gary, Jenny, Great Aunt Helen and Paul when we were watching Uncle Jason skydive.  It was a pretty hot day.  The kids really loved watching the skydivers.

Can you see the five little dots?june-306.jpg

Here he comes.

And the landing.

He has the camera on his helmet.  He was recording the other skydivers.

I guess they had to make it a short day because around 7 pm the tornado sirens started going off.

Wednesday June 20th

June 29, 2007

We went down to the fountain last week with the Adkisons.

Quite the crowd around the boys.  No, we don’t know any of them.

I feel like I  have nothing exciting to post these days.  Life has been hard, yet boring.

Wednesday we went to Jean’s house for a barbeque.  While there Vaughn took 4-5 steps at a time several times.

Tonight Gavin had a temp of 104.8* when he got home from day care.

It must be close to that time of the month for me because I’ve been a horrible witch all day.  Jamie watched the kids and I left for a couple of hours tonight.  I came back feeling very refreshed.  Actually, Kim came and got the girls and took them to the park.  They wanted to go outside – which is impossible when there is only one adult.

The Ditch

June 26, 2007

I forgot to blog about the ditch.  Long story Short:  Road Closed, we backed into a ditch.  I had to drag the kids out through the front seat.  We were having a fun time in the farmers garden – learning about various vegetables and how they grow.  Then it started to rain.  Lucy starts to whine, “Mommy, it’s going to Rain”.  I said, “Lucy, we play in the rain all the time at home.  This will be fun.”  And she got a big smile on her face and started to dance in the rain.  Then we went under a tree to get out of the rain.

The grass makes the ditch look much less steep than it really was.

As you can see, the front drivers side tire is not touching the ground.june-192.jpg

After work we drove down to watch Jason doing Tandem Jumps.

I can’t find my other camera…so when I do I’ll post pictures.

Then we ate at Mazzio’s.  We met another set of triplets there.  Three boys also.  But they were 11 years old.

Jamie’s Aunt Elaine and Uncle Bud were in town and wanted to see the kids.  Afterwards we went to Jamie’s folks house for about an hour.  Headed home and it was pouring sheets of water on us.

That night Lucy came into our bed.  She was scared from the storm.  I got up to go to the bathroom and Lucy kept insisting that we check on Gracie.  I kept telling her no, that Gracie is sleeping, so Lucy went in there on her own to check on Grace and then came back to our bed.  Such the little mommy.
